A Little Piece of Me

I have never had so much fun with anyone. Alex always makes me laugh, we were cracking up through this entire shoot. Jessica Phillips is the mastermind behind these, if you’d like take a look at more here: http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10150192399873183.316499.517678182

Famous Twitter…ers

Do you ever think to yourself, “Hey, I wonder if (fill in the blank) has a Twitter?” And I mean this in a celebrity sense, not a real person that you see everyday. Because we all know celebrities aren’t real people. They’re so much more fun to follow on Twitter because it almost feel like we’re their friend. And if we check up on them constantly, we’re just like paparazzi, only not as annoying because they don’t know we’re doing it. So really, like a stalker. You know, the ones with the cameras that take pictures from far away, like in parking lots or airports. We demand nothing from them and are content to creep from afar. But hey, it’s their fault. Should have protected your tweets, celebrity!

Anyway, that’s way off track from where I started. Sometimes I will find myself searching for celebrities, and then realize that almost an entire hour of my life has been wasted searching for someone that I will most likely never lay eyes on. I’m pretty sure I’m not the only one who does this, though. Do celebrities make up the majority of your Twitter “following” section?

“Kate Middleton: Too skinny?” was the headline that prompted me to read the article on Yahoo.com. Once I started reading it, though, it was mindless babble. I understand that the royal wedding is exciting, but are there no other wedding updates left so that the media has to result to talking about Kate’s pre-wedding weight? A source quoted in the article concluded that she, like most women right before their wedding, is probably just under stress, which (SHOCKER!) causes weight loss. Does this really matter? Who cares if she’s getting skinnier? She was tiny to start with. Please, media, don’t act so worried. What if she gained 40 pounds and slipped into the overweight category? I don’t think the media would be too worried since she would look like the average American and not the gorgeous woman that she is. So whether it’s due jealousy or boredom, stop publishing meaningless stories that are founded on pure speculation.

Wedding date——January 14, 2012 :)

Engaged—-Dec. 21, 2010 :)

It’s happened! Now it’s time to choose a date, dress, and many other things! This next year is going to be full of finishing school, planning a wedding, finding a job, and finding a house. Good thing I have an awesome fiance, great group of friends, and family to help me along the way!

I chose these pictures to represent some of the big events from this semester. It’s hard to fit all the pictures I want!

New Semester

Classes? check (not bad ones either)

Books? check (finally, last one arrived today!)

First day of work study? check (today at 9am, for the dear Dr. Janine Dunlap :)

Gano? check (A-mazing, I might add)

So far, this semester (all 3 days of it) has started out wonderfully. I’m back with my boyfriend, best friends, and hopefully new friends in the making. I’m taking 17 hours of classes, the most I’ve ever had. This might prove challenging or not as a bad as I thought it would be, but I’m guessing the difficulty will be somewhere in the middle of those two. As a Journalism major, I decided it would be a good idea to try and write for the Bell Tower, so I’m excited about that possibility! This is my first time for a work-study job as well, and I think that will be a good experience since I like my “boss”! Overall, I’m ready for the semester to really get started, I think it’s going to be a good one :)

These are some pictures from my two vacations this summer. The first three are from Longboat Key, FL, and the last three are from Cancun, Mexico.

VACATIONS!

I’m getting super excited about vacations. My family, Alex, and I are going to Tampa, FL and then on to the beach at Longboat Key, FL in 10 days. Then, I’m going with Alex and his family 2 weeks later to Cancun, Mexico! Soo…I decided to post some pictures of where I’ll be within the month :)

Busch Gardens!

Longboat Key!

Cancun!

Short Courses

So…it’s been forever since I’ve posted on here. Well, right now I’m still at Freed. I have already completed one short course and now I’m almost halfway through my second one, Christian Worship with Stan Mitchell. There isn’t much to do around campus, especially when class work is minimal. Alex and I have become “regulars” at Besso’s, or so the employees say. Maybe not the most healthy place to be regulars, but it’s a good place to study and hang out. On a different note…vacation is only 16 days away! I can’t wait for the beach! We’re vacationing with my family first, so we’ll head down to Busch Gardens for a day and then spend the rest of the week on Long Boat Key. Hopefully the oil spill effects have not affected that area yet!
